Cashless Retail?

Chatting with The Globe & Mail about the march towards cashless retail.

Solid feature article, covers the issue well. In addition to making the point that retailers fundamentally are customer driven and therefore will go where the customer takes them, we also chatted about how important cash was to retailers.

It is a fundamentally low cost transaction model (though of course not without its own handling costs), so let's not get out too far ahead of ourselves. Particularly at the lower transaction values and value end of the retail spectrum. I spoke of cashless retail in a previous The Voice of Retail podcast episode (https://lnkd.in/egcTyFh ) how Sweden had gotten itself far out ahead (4,000 Swedes had actually imbedded transaction microchips in their hands) - dunno if we are quite ready for that.

Retailers & Foodservice operators - what do you think - ready for cashless retail? https://lnkd.in/eDhrVqg
