The Future Ain't What It Used To Be

Writing the article I was reflecting on one of my favourite movies: Blade Runner (directors cut version, btw). Released in 1982, based on the Philip K. Dick book from 1968, the movie imagined 2019...some things it got pretty right (think CRISPR and genetic editing see https://lnkd.in/eF38Dcv ) & AI, but other things, not so much - a least timing-wise.
Thinking back to the late 1990's when I launched my first eCommerce site, some things have turned out very differently (man, it took 20 years in Canada!) and some things exactly as I predicted (see https://lnkd.in/eewVP-h )
